The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort located in Shawnee on Delaware, Pennsylvania, is hosting a five-course craft beer pairing dinner on Friday, October 20th at 7:00 P.M., in the Barrel Room of the ShawneeCraft Brewery with guest Chef Haika Powell. The cost of the Beer Dinner is $49 per person.

This special beer pairing dinner features a Pennsylvania Dutch five-course menu using produce grown on the Shawnee Island Farm. Each course is carefully paired with a ShawneeCraft beer that compliments and brings out the complex flavors of both the beer and food. In the tradition of Shawnee’s beer dinners, this event is highlighted by its location, nestled inside the Barrel Room of the ShawneeCraft Brewery. Special guest chef Haika Powell, masterfully blends all the flavors of the Shawnee Island Farm, local meats, cheeses and the aromas of a brewery and the beer it produces to create this special menu.

Produce for the beer pairing dinner is harvested from Shawnee’s own farm located on an island in the middle of the Delaware River. The Shawnee Island Farm is 25,000 square feet, and it has been growing produce and flowers for the Shawnee Inn since 2009.   The harvest is hand-tooled the old-fashioned way using no power plant electricity or pesticides. Any electricity is generated through solar panels, and the soil is made from compost that is gathered around the grounds of the Shawnee Inn.

Powell, who is a private chef, also owns Haika’s Kitchen in Allentown, PA. Chef Powell specializes in providing culinary experiences for intimate groups. In doing so, she is a bit of a boutique chef, focusing her efforts on small audiences and small details. All blending together to make robust menus that delight the foodies she serves.

All our pairings will be carefully prepared to bring the ultimate food and beer experience to you.

Fidelis In Naturam, In Artem Fidelis, our Latin motto for “True to Nature, True to the craft.” Shawnee craft Brewery is located right in The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort grounds. The Brewery started in 2008, and all the beers are made with 100% organic and natural ingredients. Our beers are hand-made beers, produced in small-batches, shared and showcased in the Tap Room. The beers range from Belgian inspired beers, North East IPA movement beers, and fruity beers.
