Welcome to the Poconos

Whether you’re searching for the best family vacations or weekend getaways for couples; you’ll be head over hills for the Poconos!

Once upon a time, long before Tastykakes and the Internet were invented, the Poconos majestically rose up under our feet. People and pets have been coming from the city and the boonies just to spend time in our northeastern Pennsylvania wonderland.

Here in the Poconos, you can do just about everything. You can relax – or race. You can roll down the river – or roll the dice at a casino. Just pick a verb: chill, escape, relax, romance, fish, hike, golf, shop, wed, party, gamble, float, glide, slip ‘n slide, paddle, row, ski, race, or spectate. You can even work if you must. We have great spaces for conferences. In the Poconos, you can do whatever you want.

Poco-Knows: The area covers four counties: Wayne, Pike, Monroe, and Carbon. It’s 2,400 sq. miles and more than 340,000 people live in the Poconos year-‐round. It would take about 2 hours to drive from the Southern most point to the Northern most point of the Poconos.

First timer’s thoughts on skiing at Blue Mountain Resort

Blue Mountain Resort is voted the best place to ski in Pennsylvania and one of the top five best bike parks, and when I read it has the highest vertical drop in the state at 1082 feet, my heart skips a few beats.  I’m always looking to try something new, so I call a friend to see if I could borrow her snowpants. I schedule a beginner’s lesson at the resort because I know nothing about skiing, mountain biking, or vertical drops. Neither does my guest, Alex.

Review of Kalahari Resorts & Conventions Indoor Water Park Resort - Pocono Mountains

Children and adults should be prepared to have fun from the moment they arrive at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions’ Pocono Mountain location.  Staff outfitted in safari gear greeted me under the canopy, as the sounds of rhythmic drums of tribal music playing in the background set the stage for my African-themed travel writing adventure.  Inside the lobby, the sweet smell of caramel and confections coming from the Last Bite Candy & Ice Cream Shoppe intermingled with the aroma of fresh coffee brewing inside Java Manjaro, Kalahari’s signature coffee shop.

Pamper Yourself at Mount Airy Spa
If thoughts of firm yet soft fingers, palms and forearms gently kneading your distressed neck and shoulder muscles conjures up a sense of relaxation, imagine your stress melting away as a set of skilled hands trace a path up and down your back, arms, legs and feet. That was my experience at Mount Airy Resort Casino in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, an AAA four-diamond rated full-service casino resort.
