Welcome to the Poconos

Whether you’re searching for the best family vacations or weekend getaways for couples; you’ll be head over hills for the Poconos!

Once upon a time, long before Tastykakes and the Internet were invented, the Poconos majestically rose up under our feet. People and pets have been coming from the city and the boonies just to spend time in our northeastern Pennsylvania wonderland.

Here in the Poconos, you can do just about everything. You can relax – or race. You can roll down the river – or roll the dice at a casino. When you visit the Poconos, you can escape and relax for a romantic vacation, or hike nature trails in the area state parks.  Go shopping at hundreds of the areas boutique shops, antiques, malls and more.  You can even work if you must. We have great spaces for conferences. In the Poconos, you can do whatever you want.

Poco-Knows: The area covers four counties: Wayne, Pike, Monroe, and Carbon. It’s 2,400 sq. miles and more than 340,000 people live in the Poconos year-‐round. It would take about 2 hours to drive from the Southern most point to the Northern most point of the Poconos.  VisitPoconos.com covers the Poconos, Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania regions.

Tracy Morgan Comedy Show, “Picking Up the Pieces”
Tracy Morgan has not only picked up the pieces, but has firmly glued the pieces back together in his new comeback comedy tour Picking Up the Pieces.  In 2014, Tracy was severely injured when a tractor-trailer rammed into the back of the limo bus he was traveling in, overturning the vehicle and killing one of his comedy writers, James McNair.  Two other members of his team were also severely injured.  The accident left him in a coma and fighting to recover.  Mr. Morgan is back, using his near death experience as part of his comedy routine.  He adeptly weaves his many difficult life moments into a comedic adventure sharing the many challenges he had to overcome from childhood until now.

First timer’s thoughts on skiing at Blue Mountain Resort

Blue Mountain Resort is voted the best place to ski in Pennsylvania and one of the top five best bike parks, and when I read it has the highest vertical drop in the state at 1082 feet, my heart skips a few beats.  I’m always looking to try something new, so I call a friend to see if I could borrow her snowpants. I schedule a beginner’s lesson at the resort because I know nothing about skiing, mountain biking, or vertical drops. Neither does my guest, Alex.
