Welcome to the Poconos

Whether you’re searching for the best family vacations or weekend getaways for couples; you’ll be head over hills for the Poconos!

Once upon a time, long before Tastykakes and the Internet were invented, the Poconos majestically rose up under our feet. People and pets have been coming from the city and the boonies just to spend time in our northeastern Pennsylvania wonderland.

Here in the Poconos, you can do just about everything. You can relax – or race. You can roll down the river – or roll the dice at a casino. Just pick a verb: chill, escape, relax, romance, fish, hike, golf, shop, wed, party, gamble, float, glide, slip ‘n slide, paddle, row, ski, race, or spectate. You can even work if you must. We have great spaces for conferences. In the Poconos, you can do whatever you want.

Poco-Knows: The area covers four counties: Wayne, Pike, Monroe, and Carbon. It’s 2,400 sq. miles and more than 340,000 people live in the Poconos year-‐round. It would take about 2 hours to drive from the Southern most point to the Northern most point of the Poconos.

Fall in Love With the Poconos

Leaf Peeping in Northeast PA - and particularly in the Poconos - is an activity that everyone should be sure to fit into their fall schedule.   Living in NEPA, I have the privilege of witnessing the bright pops of color that are starting to show in the Pocono Mountains.  Soon a sweeping canvas of fiery red, burning orange, bright yellow and deep burgundy will explode amidst the emerald forest.

Out of Africa and Into the Poconos – Kalahari Brings an African Safari to Our Own Back Yard
Set to open in just a few days on July 1, 2015, you have to see it to believe it.  Kalahari Resorts and Conventions’ 100,000 square foot water park, 65,000 square feet convention center and 457 hotel rooms are impressive alight.  But if you look closely while at this gigantic resort, you will quickly see that the real WOW factor is in the attention to detail.  As an event planner, one of my most important jobs is to pay attention to details – and believe me I am sure I missed a few!

Kalahari Resorts and Conventions is Reinstating Family Time in the Pocono Mountains This Summer
The demands of modern life and overbooked schedules are taking a toll on family time. On average, families are spending fewer than eight hours per week with one another. Kalahari Resorts and Conventions was created for families by the Nelson family — and they are on a mission to remove family time from the Endangered List — beginning with the opening of their grandest resort to date in the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania, on July 1, 2015.
