B-Lux Grill & Bar Opens at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in the Poconos

Since its Pocono opening in July 2015, Kalahari Resorts & Conventions has provide families and travelers alike with twisting waterslides, plush conference rooms and a full line up of spectacular one-of-a-kind dining experiences.

In November the 250 Kalahari Boulevard located resort added its newest flavor adventure to the sprawling Pocono Manor estate.

The B-Lux Grill & Bar, formerly the Brandberg Food & Drink, was re-branded and reopened with a full menu of gourmet burgers, wild fries and creamy shakes to delight children and adults alike.

“It’s not just for kids,” said Armando Monterroso, the Corporate Director of Food and Beverage for the resort.

“We’re really focused on great ingredients.”

Featured on the menu are Ahi Tuna Tartare cones, mushroom flatbread pizzas, mango habanero chicken wings and of course the gourmet burgers.

Ranging from a medium prepared Mushroom and Swiss burger to the “over-the-top” Oscar, topped with lump crab meat, asparagus, Bearnaise sauce on a steak burger, the offerings are unique, interesting and just inside the comfort zone to keep dinners from being intimidated by the ingredients.

“We want big bold flavors. Our goal is to find something everyone loves,” said the director.

The lobby-located pub’s décor is barn-wood trim, high ceilings boasting rugged chandeliers, country music on the sound system and of course a full bar.

“I saw the wood and iron and changed the music to country to create a new environment,” Monterroso said.

The large oval bar hosts 20 locally brews on tap including the Pennsylvanian staple, Yuengling to the Easton made Last Chance IPA along with a menu of wine, signature cocktails and boosey shakes for those who want to satisfy their innerchild in adult bodies.

The Cucumber Southside, a refreshing Hendricks Gin lemon sour mix with thinly-sliced strips of cucumber can be found on the menu along side the Kentucky Brainfreeze shake made with Maker’s Mark, smooth caramel and sweet peanut butter.

But this pub is not just for the parents, B-Lux created a complete menu with the little-ones in mind.

The standard “kids menu” consists of chicken fingers and fries, personal pizzas and hot dogs of course, but it’s the desert section where B-Lux really pours it on.

The B-Lux Donut Shake is hand-delivered to the table in a Mason jar, covered in colorful sprinkles, topped with a full glazed donut drizzled with chocolate sauce.

“We’re seeing a ton of kids,” he said.

“So we thought how we can become more creative with that menu,” said Head Chef, Judson Branch.

Branch has worked around the country for Renaissance Hotels and Marriott, joining the Kalahari team in February, said the pub is not the typical resort restaurant.

“It’s different when you have a lot of families coming in and spending their money, we take a lot of pride in our food,” he said.

Even with all bold flavors, expansive seating and warm atmosphere, the B-Lux Grill and Pub is reasonably priced for lunch, dinner and of course the sweet treats.

The B-Lux Grill & Pub is opened Sunday through Friday from 5 to 9:30 p.m., and Saturday 11 a.m., to 3 p.m., and 5 to 9:45 p.m.
